The Crinan Canal stretches from Ardrishaig to Crinan. During the summer this is an area of much activity provided by the many yachts and boats which visit the west coast.

Why not try a relaxing stroll along the canal bank, which has been renovated recently with both walkers an cyclists in mind.

Carnasserie Castle was one of the first Renaisance residences in Argyll, Stylishly decorated with spacious rooms, large windows and a belvedere or viewing platform.

It was about comfort, fashion and status more than defence. Campbell, who was both a clan chief and an aristocrat, probably brought masons from Stirling or Edinburgh to produce the fine detailing.

The hotel lies within a conservation area and is surrounded by historical cairns and henges. The hotel is situated within Kilmartin village, some 8 miles north of Lochgilphead and 30 miles south of Oban on the A816.
